LETTER FOR PARENTS
Birla Vidya Mandir, Nainital: 263001 (Uttarakhand)
(Sarala Birla Group of Schools)
Winter Study Camp, Moti Mahal Campus, 2-Rana Pratap Marg, Lucknow
Dear Parent,
Yet another successful academic session comes to an end and with the zest & commitment of the preceding year, we are ready to begin the new academic session of BVM by organizing a multitude of activities for students. The school is known for its rich heritage of excellence in academics, co-scholastic activities and sports. I am sure that your ward is utilizing his winter break constructively, engaging himself in meaningful activities and creative work, as per his interests, under your supervision. We hope that your ward returns to the school with a positive mindset & a desire to perform his best in academics & co-scholastic areas and to flourish in a variety of spheres under the guidance & support of the school faculty.
In the academic year 2025, the school successfully organized two educational tours-one international tour to Japan and one domestic tour to Bangalore-Mysore-Ooty providing students with valuable experiential learning opportunities.
The school will re-open after the winter vacation on 19 February, 2026 for the students of classes V to VIII (already studying). The students of classes IX, X & XII have to report on 10 March, 2026. Please ensure that your ward is fully equipped with all the items including toiletries, uniform, warm clothing etc. mentioned in the list. He must report on time (10 AM to 5 PM) on the scheduled dates.
The Winter Study Camp, Lucknow commenced on 22 December, 2025 and is going on smoothly as planned. The teaching staff is working hard so that our students produce excellent results in the Board examinations.
The School Annual Calendar for 2026 is under print and will be available on the school website very soon.
Ours being a residential educational institution, all our activities are planned for the holistic development of the students. The students are encouraged to set high benchmarks for themselves and the school provides all instructional support to help them to achieve the same. In this context, I would like to draw the attention of the parents to the following important points pertaining to the school rules:
1. Your ward must report on the date of the re-opening of school after the winter vacation. If your ward does not report on the scheduled date of reporting, he will be charged Rs. 500/- per day for late reporting.
2. Parents are allowed to visit the school only on the second Saturday & the last Saturday of a month to meet their wards. On other days, meeting the child is not permitted. Night leave with parent and/or authorized person is permissible as per the school rules. If your ward is required to undergo any medical check-up, please do so during the vacation. Taking the child home during the academic term under the pretext of medical test/check up (except in emergency) must be avoided to maintain regularity in studies & other activities. It has been observed that a few parents send eatables to their wards through parcels, which according to the rules, is not allowed. When a child receives a parcel of eatables, he does not take his meals properly in the school dining hall and prefers to eat the food items that he receives from home.
3. We have informed the parents a number of times in the past that keeping cash, ATM card, mobile phones, electronic gadgets or any other costly item is strictly prohibited. We regret to state that, inspite of being reminded time & again, some parents fail to co-operate with us in this regard.
4. Parents are advised to attend the PTMs organized by the school to ascertain the academic progress, attitude, behaviour, strength & weakness of their wards and also to know about the remedial measures & sincere efforts made by us to improve them. A strong parent-teacher relationship makes a great difference to a child's education. PTM is an important event which keeps the parents up-dated. While corresponding with the school, please mention the name of your ward, his class, folio number, house, your contact number & e-mail correctly. If any student indulges in damaging the school property, strict action will be taken. A heavy penalty will be imposed, which will be debited to the student's account with intimation to the parent.
5. The school keeps on sending various documents (circulars/undertakings/ proformas etc) to the parents for their information and necessary action. Please note that it is mandatory for the parents to submit the documents duly filled-in & signed by them as per the requirement of the school. Please do not ignore this and take action accordingly as per the directives mentioned in the circulars.
6. Please ensure that your ward has been vaccinated as per the following details:
1. BCG: single dose(can be given till 1 yr of age)
2. HEPATITIS-B: (any age)

At the time of reporting, the parents of the students already studying in this school are requested to submit the original Medical Certificate duly filled in, signed & stamped by at least an MBBS doctor along with the proforma with regard to identity and authorization of the escort/guardian for meeting the child and/or taking him out. Do remember to bring photo copies of the Aadhaar cards of the student, his father & mother and submit the same in the school office, if not submitted so far.
8. Kindly ensure that your ward's biometric details are updated in Aadhaar, as this is mandatory for every student for updating records on the UDISE portal.
9. The demand for school fee for the term January-June 2026 has been sent to all the parents and it is to be remitted by 31st January, 2026. If you have deposited the fee directly in the school account through RTGS/NEFT, please keep the bank counter-foil since you have to produce it in the school office at the time of reporting, to reconcile the fee account.
